The LMT86LP is a precision CMOS Integrated Circuit Temperature Sensor with an analogue output voltage that is linearly and inversely proportional to temperature. Its features make it suitable for many general temperature sensing applications. It can operate down to 2.2V supply with 5.4µA power consumption making it ideal for battery powered devices. A class-AB output structure gives the LMT86/LMT86-Q1 strong output source and sink current capability that can directly drive up to 1.1nF capacitive loads. This means it is well suited to drive an analogue-to-digital converter sample-and-hold input with its transient load requirements.
±0.25°C Very accurate
Low 5.4µA quiescent current
Sensor gain of -10.9mV/°C
Short-circuit protection for output
Push-pull output with ±50µA current capability
Footprint compatible with industry-standard LM20/19 and LM35 temperature sensor
Cost-effective alternative to thermistors
Device has limited built-in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or the device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to the MOS gates.
