The DRV8805EVM is an evaluation module for DRV8805, provides an integrated solution for driving unipolar stepper motors. It includes four low side drivers with overcurrent protection and provides built in diodes to clamp turn off transients generated by the motor windings. Indexer logic to control a unipolar stepper motor using a simple step/direction interface is also integrated. Three stepping modes are supported 2 phase (full step), 1-2 phase (half step), and 1-phase (wave drive). This evaluation module comes with an on board MSP430 microprocessor which has been pre programmed for standalone operation. The regulated voltage for the MSP430 is provided by TPS7A4001. This evaluation module operates on power supply voltages from 8.2V to 60V.
1.5A continuous current single channel output
800mA continuous current, four channels ON
Wide operating voltage range from 8.2V to 60V
Low RDS ON (500mR)
Includes terminal as well as kelvin connections for all DRV8805 signals
Includes USB port for programming of the microprocessor.
Evaluation module includes LED indicator of fault state
It is important to operate this EVM within the input voltage range of -0.3V to 65V and the output voltage range of -0.3V to 65V. Exceeding the specified input range may cause damage to the EVM.
