The MC9S08SL16CTL is a 8-bit Microcontroller based on enhanced HCS08 CPU (20MHz bus) with CISC architecture operates at a maximum frequency of 40MHz. The device incorporates 16kB internal flash, 0.512kB internal RAM, an analog comparator, 16-channel 10-bit A/D converter and 22 general-purpose I/O pins. This device also features peripherals like one inter-integrated circuit (IIC) bus module to operate at up to 100kbps, one serial peripheral interface modules (SPI), one serial communications interface (SCI) module and real-time counter (RTC).
