The MC78L12ABDR2G is a fixed output positive voltage regulator in 8 pin SOIC package. This inexpensive, easy to use device is suitable for multitude of applications that require regulated supply of up to 100mA. Like higher powered MC7800 and MC78M00 series devices, this regulator features internal short circuit current limiting and internal thermal shutdown making it remarkably rugged. No external components are required with MC78L12A device in many applications. This device offers a substantial performance advantage over traditional zener diode-resistor combination as output impedance and quiescent current are substantially reduced.
