The MAX500BCPE+ is a CMOS, quad, voltage output 8bit digital to analogue converter (DAC) in 16 pin DIP package. This serial DAC includes four output buffer amplifiers and input logic for an easy to use two or three wire cascadable serial interface. In a system with several MAX500B devices, only one serial data line is required to load all the DACs by cascading them. The MAX500B contains double buffered logic and 10bit shift register that allows all four DACs to be updated simultaneously using one control signal. There are three reference inputs so the range of two of DACs can be independently set while other two DACs track each other. The device achieves 8bit performance over the full operating temperature range without external trimming. It is used in minimum component count, analogue systems, digital offset/gain adjustment, arbitrary function generators and automatic test equipments.
