The DRV8825PWP is a bipolar stepper motor driver with on-chip 1/32 microstepping indexer in 28 pin HTSSOP package. The device has two H bridge drivers and microstepping indexer. It is intended to drive a bipolar stepper motor. The output driver block consists of N channel power MOSFET"s configured as full H bridges to drive motor windings. A simple STEP/DIR interface allows easy interfacing to controller circuits. Mode pins allow for configuration of motor in full step up to 1/32 step modes. Decay mode is configurable so that slow decay, fast decay or mixed decay can be used. A low power sleep mode is provided which shuts down internal circuitry to achieve very low quiescent current draw. Internal shutdown functions are provided for overcurrent, short circuit, undervoltage lockout and over temperature.
Operating supply voltage range from 8.2V to 45V
Maximum drive current of 2.5A at 24V and TA = 25°C
Built-in 3.3V reference output
Internal current control PWM frequency of 30KHz
Operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C
This device has limited built-in ESD protection. The leads should be shorted together or device placed in conductive foam during storage or handling to prevent electrostatic damage to MOS gates.
