Discontinuation and Recommended Replacements for
CPM1A and CPM2A Controllers
Effective date: March 31, 2015
CPM1A and CPM2A CPU units, expansion units and communication adapters will be discontinued.
Functional replacements are available by using the CP1E CPU units, expansion units and
communication adapters. Form and fit will be different between the CPM1A, CPM2A units and the
CP1E units. Replacement guides are available to assist in the conversion process.
Precautions on Applying Replacements
The dimensions, wire connections and characteristics (form and fit) are different between the
CPMx (x=1or 2) units and the CP1E units.
o The depth of dimension of the CP1E is a little larger than compared to CPM1A and
CPM2A CPU unit.
o The CPM1A and CP1W expansion units is are the same except for body color
CX-Programmer will convert most of the CPMx programs for the CP1E but some
modifications to the program will need to be made.
Product Discontinuation and Replacement Part Numbers
Recommended replacements with multiple part numbers indicates more than one part number could
be a suitable replacement. See the Migration Guides for detailed replacement information.
